ESSAYS AND INTERVIEWS

June 10, 2004

THERE'S STILL TIME...

It looks as if LESS THAN HEROES will be in stores close to the end of June. But if you don't wanna chance missing it, I implore you to order it directly from TOP SHELF PRODUCTIONS. The book did fairly well in orders, but additional orders will certainly help the case for Volume 2. Give it a try, won't you?

THE COMICREADERS.COM INTERVIEW

Comics Retailer, Web-site guru, and all-around great guy Dana Tillusz recently chatted online with me at comicreaders.com about the state of the comics industry (and LESS THAN HEROES, of course). It was a fun and challenging interview that delved into many topics that I was quite pleased to address. Actually, I learned a lot about myself in this interview and what I really dig about comics. JOHN BOLTON, DRIVER'S ED, AND A WHOLE LOTTA TROUBLE

Over at POP THOUGHT you'll find a newly composed 4200-word essay that recounts my teen years. Why is this worth mentioning, much less spending thousands of words describing? It's a glimpse into the mind of an obsessed adolescent comics fan. It's about driver's ed class, John Bolton, Kull, and the depths I was willing to sink to in order to add to my ever-growing collection. You might even find a little of yourself in this story...

That's all for this week. More later, including, maybe, the start of a new artist search.
